Correct 5-Speed Hewland MkV Gearbox rebuilt by Hewland Agents J P Racing.

Possibly the 23 was most successful Lotus sports racer ever. Tubular spaceframe chassis, all-round independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, lightweight bodywork, front / rear anti-roll bars, the main fore and aft tubes carrying oil & water between the nose-located radiators and mid-mounted engine – how advanced was this?

Indeed, 400bhp per ton is realistic

A giant killer in the making.
